How to create bleed size artwork
In printing terms "Bleed" is referred to we need to have a little extra image beyond where the final cut is supposed to be made. Standard bleeds are 1mm each side for business card. 3mm for fleyrs, brochures or booklet. The video above showed that the initial name card artwork was set to final size (90mmX54mm). As bleed is required, we draw another box which included bleeding size 92mmX56mm (+1mm on each side). After that we extend the image to bleed size.
Why we need bleeds is simple. Due to cutting process tolerance and offset, it might leaving a white line if your artwork does not have bleed size.
